GEP professional learning
The Global Education Project has been initiated by the Australian Government Overseas Aid Program. The goal of the Project is to raise awareness and understanding of global and development issues amongst school students in Victoria and foster the skills, knowledge and values which will enable them to participate in a global society which is becoming increasingly interdependent.
The Project involves the professional development of teachers to assist them in teaching about global and development issues and perspectives It is worth noting that this Project will provide professional development activities to both the primary and secondary sectors and will cover all learning areas.
Currently there are many global issues and relationships with developing countries to explore with students, in order that they may understand Australia's relationship with the World and their place and responsibilities in it. The professional development sessions offered by the Global Education Project aim to explore many of these issues.
