ABC Education TV

ABC Schools Television programs are broadcast between 10.00am and 11.00am weekdays during school term and provide resources for primary and secondary schools in all KEY Learning Areas. For further information contact us or visit our website.

AngliCORD

Resources and speakers on available on Global Education Issues suitable for Years 7-12. Print resources available on HIV/AIDS, water and literacy. Some resources, including evaluation reports and curriculum kits are available on our website. Limited list of titles on Video are also available for borrowing.

Austrade (Australian Trade Commission)

Austrade provides free teaching resources related to globalisation, international trade, international business, enterprise, small business case studies, opportunities for regional regeneration and global economic issues. These books, CDs and posters are suitable for middle and senior secondary classes. Additional web quests and case studies are available on the Internet site, including Globalisation activity sheets suitable for Years 6-8. Free Professional Development workshops can be arranged for groups of teachers. Contact us if you would like to host a workshop at your school.

Australian Bureau of Statistics, National Education Services Unit

A wide range of free lesson plans, student activities and statistical concept resources are available covering the Census of Population and Housing, environment, economy, measures of progress, water use and indigenous issues. The ABS introduced the Census At School project in 2005, providing real raw data and supporting resource materials which can be accessed from the web site. All ABS publications are free to download from the ABS web site. A 30% discount is available on hardcopy publications valued over $10 for Australian primary and secondary schools.

Australian Camps Association

The ACA Adventure Education Bookshop offers a wide range of titles and resources for Geography, Outdoor and Physical Education teachers. Please contact the ACA office for a FREE bookshop catalogue. The ACA also have a Free Camp Booking Enquiry Service, designed to help teachers and individuals to find a suitable camp for their group. Tel: 1300 734 187.

Australian Industry Greenhouse Network

AIGN is a network of industry associations and individual businesses which contribute to the climate change policy debate and see value in joint action on climate change policy in order to promote sustainable industry development. AIGN seeks to promote development of Australia’s manufacturing, agricultural and industrial resources by: Providing information, advice and a forum for the analysis and formulation of public policymaking process on the climate change issue. Consulting with government and other opinion leaders on the adoption of a principled national and international greenhouse policy framework within which effective, equitable, efficient and appropriate domestic greenhouse gas abatement actions are developed and implemented consistent with sustainable development. Contributing to the international climate change debate including through the provision of advice to the Australian delegation to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change meetings.

Barwon Water

Barwon Water is Victoria’s largest regional water authority. Our area of responsibility stretches from Little River and the Bellarine Peninsula in the east to Colac in the west, and from Meredith and Cressy in the north to Apollo Bay on Victoria’s south west coast. The region incorporates more than 130 primary and secondary schools, plus several tertiary institutions. Barwon Water’s educational program provides resources for students and teachers of the region’s schools including guided tours of major reservoirs, water treatment plants and water reclamation plants.

Bird Observers Club Of Australia

The Bird Observers Club of Australia aims to promote responsible bird-watching as an enjoyable recreation leading to increased knowledge about Australian birds and a better understanding of their habitat needs. Membership includes bi-monthly magazine, access to meetings, outdoor activities and libraries. It has Victorian and interstate branches.
