In addition to the external Professional Development programs the GTAV is in a position to customise activities to enhance professional learning opportunities for individuals and groups. The GTAV can help in areas such as: Developing curriculum and assessment in light of VELS

  • Specific topic ideas and resources
  • Incorporating sustainability as an underlying principle
  • Implementing relevant teaching strategies
  • Incorporating spatial concepts and skills
  • Incorporating other domains
  • Designing meaningful  fieldwork
  • Introducing and enhancing incorporation of GIS and other spatial technologies
  • supporting Geography teachers who do not have an academic background in geography.
