Session Overview:
This session focuses on a different approaches, techniques, and activities that can be used by VCE Geography educators to engage students in the revision process leading up to the end of year exam.
Attendees will leave with a wide range of tasks that could be used in the classroom and an example of a systematic approach to dissecting student knowledge. There will also be examples of feedback techniques that might be used by teachers in the lead up to the Unit 3/4 exam, revision techniques that can be used in Unit 1/2 Geography, and how assistive technologies might be employed to provide timely feedback to students.
By deepening teachers' understanding of key elements in VCE Geography, we aim to empower them to lead their students to success in the upcoming exam.
The session will be recorded and be made available to all registrants within 48 hours after the event with the presenter slides.
About the Presenter:
Paul Rogers - University High School
Leading Teacher, Head of Middle Sub-School (7-10), and multi-disciplinary teacher at University High School. A specialist teacher of Geography, History, Outdoor Education, and Sport. Extensive work (15+ years) as a secondary school teacher, outdoor educator, sailing coach, university and community sport manager and a regular content presenter for the Geography Teachers’ Association and Australian Geographer Teachers Association. Paul is an active member of the Professional Learning Sub-Committee and relishes the opportunities GTAV create for teachers to showcase their expertise in professional forums. He has extensive experience in writing curriculum, managing staff, planning large-scale events and coordinating professional learning experiences.
