Emerging Geography Educator Award - Application Criteria

To current GTAV members within Victoria who are within their first five years of teaching Geography, including primary, secondary and VCE teachers. |

Awarded: |
|
Annually on stage at the Annual Conference with a trophy. |

Awarded by whom: |
|
A selection committee, appointed by the Management Committee, will review entries and select a winner. |
| |

Assessment criteria: |
|
- Designs and delivers engaging, inclusive and effective Geography lessons including fieldwork that aligns with the relevant Geography curriculum (e.g. Victorian Curriculum 2.0 VCE)
- Develops or adapts teaching and learning resources to enhance student understanding and have a positive impact on student engagement, curiosity and learning in Geography.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and dedication to teaching Geography and shows a clear committment to developing their subject knowledge and pedagogical practice by actively seeking opportunities for professional growth in Geography education.
- Must be a current, paid through GTAV member

The recipient will be invited to contribute an Interaction Journal article or classroom resource, such as a unit plan, lesson sequence or reflection on practice. |
