Annual Conference 2026 – Have you registered yet?
Finding time to step away from the classroom can be challenging. Yet it is often these opportunities that have the greatest impact on our teaching, our students and our professional growth.
The GTAV Annual Conference is more than a professional learning event. It is an opportunity to connect with colleagues who share your passion for Geography, exchange practical ideas, explore new approaches to teaching and learning, and return to school with renewed energy and inspiration.
With a diverse range of presentations, hands-on fieldwork experiences and opportunities to engage with leading educators and industry partners, teachers consistently tell us that the Conference is one of the most valuable professional learning experiences of the school year.
If you've been thinking about attending, now is the perfect time to secure your place. Join us for Fieldwork Day on Thursday 13 August, Conference Day on Friday 14 August, or make the most of the experience by attending both.
Register NOW to attend one or both days.
What Geography and Humanities teachers are saying about last year’s Annual Conference:
- I love coming to the GTAV Conference. It allows for networking and upskilling. It is an inspiring day.
- Informative exhibitors, presentations that were relevant for Geography, Humanities, VCE Vocational Major and even VET. So many ideas that I have taken away for use.
- I love the work of GTAV. Every conference I have been to has been beneficial in a variety of ways.
Booklist Now for 2027 - VCE Geography Textbooks - Edition 4 Coming Soon!
GTAV is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Edition 4 of the VCE Geography textbook series for Units 1-4, available for use from the 2027 school year.
The series has been comprehensively revised to strengthen alignment with the VCE Geography Study Design (2022) and includes updated case studies, datasets, questions and assessment support, along with a redesigned layout, improved visual signposting, and enhanced digital features. Teachers will also receive a free downloadable PDF of sample responses when purchasing a copy for their own use.
All Unit 1–4 textbooks will be available in Paperback, eBook and eBundle formats and can now be included on school booklists for 2027. Schools should contact their bookseller for publication dates, pricing and ordering information. Teachers will be notified when each of the unit books has been published and is available to purchase via our online shop.
Please note that Edition 3 will no longer be available beyond the 2026 school year, as the new edition reflects significant updates to content, structure and assessment support.
Revision Compass, GTAV's VCE Geography Study Guide for Units 3 and 4, remains fully relevant and aligned with the current study design. It continues to provide valuable revision support through practice questions, skill-building exercises, graphic organisers and a comprehensive colour data section designed to strengthen students' analytical and examination skills.
