Seeking Australian Secondary School Teachers for Research on Trauma-Informed Education
About the study:
Monash University is conducting research on how secondary teachers understand and apply trauma-informed practices in their classrooms. We are seeking teachers from different subject areas (e.g., music, maths, art, English, history, health, economics, science, languages, drama, technology, physical education, etc.) to share their experiences. The study aims to inform teacher education, strengthen whole-school approaches to trauma-informed teaching, and improve trauma-informed practice in schools by understanding the unique experiences and needs of teachers in different subject areas.
What is involved?
A 30-45-minute semi-structured interview, held online or by phone, where you will discuss your understanding and use of trauma-informed education in your subject area. Participation is voluntary, and you may skip questions or withdraw at any time before your data are de-identified. You will receive a $50 voucher for your time and effort.
Who can take part?
Australian secondary school teachers currently teaching any designated subject area. The subjects listed above are examples only and are not intended to exclude teachers of other subjects. We are seeking diverse perspectives and are interested to hear from teachers who feel they have limited experience through to a lot of experience using trauma-informed practice in their classrooms.
