Accredited Carbon Literacy Training for Educators
Australasian Campuses Towards Sustainability (ACTS) has recently launched an accredited Carbon Literacy Training for Educators course, specifically designed for K–12 teachers in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The course has been accredited by The Carbon Literacy Project, a globally recognised climate education framework that has now certified more than 150,000 learners across 47 countries and over 13,000 organisations worldwide.
This is the first Carbon Literacy course accredited specifically for educators in our region. The training is delivered online through a blended format combining self-paced learning with live facilitated sessions, and can contribute towards professional development hours.
The course supports educators to:
- strengthen their understanding of climate science and current impacts
- explore practical climate responses within schools and communities
- build confidence discussing climate-related topics with students
- connect climate literacy with curriculum and whole-school approaches
- develop practical actions that reduce emissions and support positive change
