  • Day 1 - 3 Jan Melbourne - Colombo-Negombo
    • Depart at 4:40 pm on Singapore Airlines flight SQ228. Arrive in Singapore at 9-20 pm and transfer to SQ468, departing at 11:05 pm. Arrive into Colombo at 12:15 am and transfer to our hotel located on nearby Negombo Beach. Jetwing Beach Hotel
  • Day 2 - 4 Jan Negombo - Pinnawela - Habarana - Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya
    • Morning departure to Pinnawela where you can visit the elephant orphanage-home, one of the most visited sites of Sri Lanka. Afterwards proceed to Sigiriya where we will visit Polonnaruwa, which was the second capital of Sri Lanka in the 11th and 12th centuries. Aliya Resort
  • Day 3 - 5 Jan Sigiriya Rock Fortess - Habarana Village Tour
    • After breakfast we will ascend to the heritage listed rock fortress of Sigiriya (“Lion Rock”), dating from the 5th century. "Lion Rock" is a citadel of unusual beauty located 200 meters above the forest. Afterwards proceed to Hiriwaduna Village, where travellers are offered a remarkable experience the true spirit of rural life in Sri Lanka. Aliya Resort
  • Day 4 - 6 Jan Sigiriya - Ritigala - Kandy
    • Morning visit to the Ritigala Ruins and Dambulla Temple before continuing on to Kandy. En-route visit the Spice Garden in Matale where you will see the luscious cinnamons, cardamons, pepper plants etc. This afternoon we will take a city tour of Kandy including visiting a gem laboratory and a silk factory.   • Day 5 - 7 Jan Andy - Kithulgala - Nuwara Eliya
    • After breakfast leave for Nuwara Elliya, via Kithulgala, a small town perched on the hills that slope down to the flowing waters of the Kelani River. Visit a tea plantation and tea processing factory before continuing on to Nuwara Eliya. Grand Hotel
  • Day 6 - 8 Jan Nuwara Eliya - Horton Plains - Yala
    • After an early breakfast, leave for Horton Plains, the highest plateau in the country and one of the most important National Parks in Sri Lanka. The most spectacular physical feature of the Horton Plains is the escarpment that falls 880 meters to the lowlands of the southern region of the island. Aptly known as the Worlds End, the view from the precipice of the countryside below is spectacular. After lunch we will descend from the high plateau to the jungles of Yala, en-route visiting the beautiful Rawana Waterfalls. Cinnamon Wild Yala
  • Day 7 - 9 Jan Yala National Park
    • After breakfast commence a jeep safari in the Yala National Park by private jeep accompanied by a tracker. Yala National park one of Sri Lanka's premier eco tourist Destinations and is renowned for its variety of wildlife notably its many elephants. It is also home to the spotted deer, sambar, wild buffalo, sloth bear, jackal, mongoose, crocodiles and peacocks. Yala has a high concentration of leopards, although seeing these nocturnal carnivores still requires some luck. Cinnamon Wild Yala
  • Day 08 - 10 Jan Yala - Balapitiya - Galle - Bentota Beach
    • Check out from the hotel and leave for the fort city of Galle. Engage in a day excursion around Galle City. Then head back towards Bentota for accommodation. En-route do a boat safari in Madhu River and visit the turtle hatchery Balapitiya. Bentota Beach Hotel
  • Day 9 - 11 Jan Bentota Beach
    • Day at leisure to enjoy one of the Sri Lanka’s finest beaches. Bentota Beach Hotel
  • Day 10 - 12 Jan Bentota Beach - Colombo City Tour - Airport
    • After breakfast leave for Colombo. This afternoon you will drive through the commercial and city center known as the “Fort”, built by the Portuguese in the 16th century where grand colonial era buildings stand alongside modern office structures. See the vibrant markets and bazaars of Pettah, the National Museum and visit a Buddhist temple and a Hindu Kovil, before some free time for shopping. Continue on to the airport either Sri Lankan Airways flight to Bangalore, or SQ469 departing at 1-30 am back to Melbourne.

  • Day 11 -12 Jan Arrive - Bangalore
    • Depart Colombo on Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL171 departing at 6-45 pm for Bangalore (Bengaluru). On arrival at 8-05 pm transfer to our centrally located city hotel. Royal Orchid Central Hotel
  • Day 12 - 13 Jan Bangalore - Mysore
    • After breakfast we will take a City Tour of Bangalore – one of India’s most liveable cities. This afternoon we will drive to Mysore, which served as the capital city of the Kingdom of Mysore from 1399 until 1947. This evening we will visit the Brindavan Garden, famous for its colorfully lit dancing fountains that come alive once the sun sets. Royal Orchid Metropole Hotel
  • Day 13 - 14 Jan Mysore
    • After breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Mysore visiting the magnificent Maharaja’s Palace built in 1911-12. We will then visit the Art Gallery before driving to the top of Chamundi Hill (1062 m) to see the Chamundeshwari Temple and a panoramic view of Mysore. On your way back we will see the 5 m high Nandi Bull carved out of solid rock in 1659. This evening we will attend the Sound and Light Show at the Mysore Palace Royal Orchid Metropole Hotel
  • Day 14 - 15 Jan Mysore-Ooty - Coonoor
    • This morning we will drive to Ooty, the largest former British Hill station in South India, where we will take a short sightseeing tour of the city before we transfer to the station to board the toy train for our one hour ride through the mountains to Coonoor. On arrival transfer to our hotel. Rest of day at leisure to enjoy this beautiful area. Taj Gateway Hotel
  • Day 15 - 16 Jan Coonoor - Cochin
    • Today we have an 8-9 hour drive from the highlands down to Cochin (Kochi) located on the Arabian Sea coast. Upon arrival check into our hotel. Casino Hotel
  • Day 16 - 17 Jan Cochin
    • After breakfast proceed for our sightseeing tour of Cochin, visiting the cantilevered Chinese fishing nets, St. Francis Church where Vasco da Gama was originally buried. We will also visit the Santa Cruz Church and the Hill Palace Museum. This evening we will attend a Kathakali Dance Performance – one of Kerala’s most famous cultural institutions. Casino Hotel
  • Day 17 - 18 Jan Cochin - Kumarakom
    • After breakfast we will visit the Dutch Palace, which has some of India’s most beautiful murals, and the Jewish Synagogue in the heart of Jew Town. Later we will drive to Kumarakom, where on arrival we will check into our lakeside hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure. Eastend Lakesong Resort
  • Day 18 - 19 Jan Kumarakom - Houseboat (Alleppey)
    • After breakfast transfer to Kumarakom Jetty where we will embark on our houseboat (a converted rice boat or “ Kettuvallam & rdquo;), for a relaxing tour on the Kerala Backwaters. Enjoy the backwater cruise, lazing in our houseboat as it meanders through the tranquil network of water canals, dotted with busy hamlets, lush green paddy fields. River Escape Houseboat
  • Day 19 - 20 Jan Arrive - Alleppey - Kovalam
    • After breakfast we will disembark from houseboat and drive to Kovalam Beach (approx. 5 hrs). Upon arrival check into our hotel. Rest of the day is free to enjoy the beach.

  • Day 20 - 21 Jan Kovalam - Trivandrum
    • After breakfast free till departure and later transfer to Trivandrum Airport to board Silk Air flight MI492 departing at 10:45 pm for Singapore.
  • Day 21 - 22 Jan Singapore - Melbourne
    • On arrival at 5:45 am transfer to Singapore Airlines flight SQ207, departing at 7:00 am for Melbourne. Arrive back home at 6:15 pm
